UFC Live on Versus Predictions

UFC Live airs this Sunday at 9pm ET/6pm PT on Versus or Rogers Sportsnet in Canada. The main event of the card features two top light heavyweight fighters in Brandon "The Truth" Vera and Jon "Bones" Jones. Even though there are no huge UFC names on the card, it still has a lot of top level talent that could make for some very exciting fights.

Brandon Vera Vs. Jon Jones
This is going to be a very exciting fight and also a very important fight for both fighters. The winner of this fight could see themselves getting a shot at the number one contender in the future and a possible title fight down the road. The loser is going to have a long road to come back from, especially if Vera were to lose. With these two powerful strikers, I don't see the fight going to the judges. Either Vera or Jones can win this but I'm giving the edge to Jones and his athleticism. Jones wins this battle by knockout or technical knockout.

Junior Dos Santos Vs. Gabriel Gonzaga
This is going to be a war between two very powerful heavyweights. I am giving the edge to Dos Santos on the feet and to Gonzaga on the ground. Dos Santos is going to come out very hungry for this fight and win the stand up war knocking out or TKO'ing Gonzaga. Dos Santos wants to win this fight bad and line up a future fight with Cain Velasquez.

Cheick Kongo Vs. Paul Buentello
Another fight with two powerful heavyweights that show no signs of letting the fight get to the ground. I think Kongo will showcase his superior striking skills and pull out the victory over a game Buentello.

Alessio Sakara Vs. James Irvin
Irvin will be making his middleweight debut after spending most of his UFC career at light heavyweight. Irvin has not been in the cage since July 2008, when he lost to Anderson Silva. I think Irvin will shake the ring rust, injury problems and the weight cut to show Sakara why he is nicknamed "The Sandman."

Clay Guida Vs. Shannon Gugerty
Guida is coming off of two very disappointing losses and will be looking to force the action with Gugerty. Guida's high pace style will wear down Gugerty and give Guida a much needed victory.

Eliot Marshall Vs. Vladimir Matyushenko
Expect a close fight between these two with Matyushenko having the overall edge and experience. Matyushenko will win his second UFC fight in a row with a close decision victory.

John Howard Vs. Daniel Roberts
Roberts was a late replacement for the injured Anthony Johnson and will be making his UFC debut. Howard will overwhelm the UFC newcomer and win via late knockout.

Brendan Schaub Vs. Chase Gormley
Schaub makes his first appearance since his loss to Roy Nelson at the TUF 10 Finale. Schaub will use his superior athleticism and submit Gormley in the early rounds.

Mike Pierce Vs. Julio Paulino
Paulino is making his UFC debut, replacing the injured Rob Kimmons. Pierce will outwork Paulino and win by Unanimous Decision.

Jason Brilz Vs. Eric Schafer
In a possible loser leaves the UFC match, expect Schafer to submit Brilz with his superior ground skills.

Duane Ludwig Vs. Darren Elkins
Elkins is another fighter making his UFC debut on this card because of an injury to Spencer Fisher. Ludwig will pull out the victory with a knockout or submission from strikes.

Who will win Ben Henderson vs Frankie Edgar 2?
