The brawl was quickly resolved and wasn't a huge deal, except that it was being televised live on national TV. Sadly, this doesn't help sell MMA as a professional sport and not "human cockfighting" as the MMA haters would like you to believe. A small altercation like this can really hurt the new image of MMA, even more so than Frank Mir's comments of wanting Brock Lesnar to die in the octagon. All that the major sports networks talked about was, the post fight altercation, instead of an exciting night of fights. Expect CBS and Strikeforce to take precautions to prevent something like this happening again.
Jake Shields did help by appologizing on TV before the show went off the air. Miller also appologized through his website, stating "I would like to formally apologize to CBS, Strikeforce, and all fans of mixed martial arts for my role in the events following the Strikeforce Nashville event."
