WEC 48 Aldo vs. Faber Predictions

WEC 48 will be making its pay-per-view debut with probably its most exciting card to date. The event will feature two championship fights with Jose Aldo vs. Urijah Faber for the featherweight crown and Ben Henderson vs. Donald Cerrone for the lightweight title. Both of these fights could easily be fight of the year candidates. This will also be the first WEC event to have UFC commentators, Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan calling the fights. The UFC's Bruce Buffer will also be taking over fighter introductions for this historic event. The preliminary fights will start at 9PM ET on Spike and will be followed by the pay-per-view at 10PM ET.

Jose Aldo Vs. Urijah Faber
Dana White is calling it the most exciting fight ever at 145lbs and this fight could truly end up being exactly that. Both fighters are extremely explosive and have all kinds of talent. This fight will come down to the slight striking advantage that Aldo has over Faber. Aldo will eventually catch Faber with a well timed strike to win by TKO.

Ben Henderson Vs. Donald Cerrone
A lightweight championship rematch in what was last years fight of the year. Last time these two faced off it was Henderson's superior wrestling and submission defense that helped him squeeze out a decision win. If Cerrone can stop the early take down attempts by Henderson then Henderson could be in trouble. This is one fight that is a coin flip and can easily go either way. Expect another war between these two fighters with Henderson winning by a close decision.

Mike Brown Vs. Manvel Gamburyan
Gamburyan is undefeated since he dropped down to featherweight but facing Mike Brown will be big step up in competition for the Armenian fighter. Both fighters are two of the most powerful pound 4 pound fighters in MMA and have excellent ground skills. The difference in this fight will be Brown's striking and more complete skill set. Brown will use his superior stand-up to pick apart Gamburyan before winning the fight by TKO.

Anthony Njokuani Vs. Shane Roller
A lightweight fight in what is probably a number one contender match. Both fighters are eager for a shot at the lightweight title and want to prove they should be the next one to get it. Roller has the advantage on the ground and Njokuani has the far better striking skills. Njokuani has been susceptible to submissions in the past and in this fight Roller will use his excellent submission skills to pull off the victory.

Antonio Banuelos Vs. Scott Jorgensen
Jorgensen is stepping in for the injured Damacio Page to setup this rematch from WEC 41. Banuelos won the first fight by split decision in what was a tough fight for both fighters. Jorgensen will be looking for revenge and will pull out a victory by another close decision.

Leonard Garcia Vs. Chan Sun Jung
A prelim fight that will be shown on Spike between two very tough featherweights. Garcia will avoid the submissions of Sun Jung and win by TKO late in the fight.

Alex Karalexis Vs. Anthony Pettis
This will be an exciting fight between two powerful strikers. Both fighters will be looking to keep this fight standing. Pettis has a more all around stand-up skill set and will avoid the hard punches of Karalexis to win this fight by TKO.
