Winner of Koscheck/Daley Gets Next Shot at GSP

During the pre-fight press conference Dana White announced that the winner of Josh Koscheck vs. Paul Daley would be the next opponent for UFC welterweight champion, Georges St. Pierre. The announcement came as a bit of a shock because many fans expected Jake Shields to be the next challenger for GSP. With Shields still under contract with Strikeforce, it appears the UFC is not willing to wait for Shields and decided to give Daley or Koscheck the next title shot.

The decision to make the Koscheck/Daley fight a number one contender match might also have to do with the next installment of The Ultimate Fighter. Rumors are that the winner of this fight wont only get a title shot but also a coaching job against GSP, on the next season of The Ultimate Fighter. GSP is one of the most popular fighters in the UFC and Dana White wants to take full advantage of GSP's popularity. St. Pierre on the next Ultimate Fighter will bring nothing but high ratings for the UFC and it will be very interesting to see GSP's training techniques.

The Koscheck and Daley fight was already going to be an interesting fight to watch, but it will be even more intense with the number one contender spot and a possible Ultimate Fighter coaching position on the line.
