UFC 112 takes place this Saturday in Abu Dhabi and features three very exciting fights. Due to the time zone difference the event will be shown at 1pm ET on April 10, 2010 and then it will replay at the UFC's regular time of 10pm ET.
Anderson Silva Vs. Demian Maia
Silva will be looking to extend his UFC title defense record and show the MMA world that he is the pound for pound best. Maia's only chance is to get Silva on the ground and use his superior ground skills to catch Silva in a submission. However, Silva's stand-up is far better than Maia's and should prevent Maia from getting this fight to the ground. Expect this fight to be a more exciting version of Leites vs. Silva. Silva will showcase his all around skills and win by TKO late in the fight.
BJ Penn Vs. Frankie Edgar
Edgar will be a tough opponent for Penn and will be a much needed test for BJ. Frankie will be able to match-up with BJ on the feet and his strong wrestling should help him stay off his back. Edgar will fight a strong fight but eventually Penn will get him on the ground and take control of the fight. Penn's strong ground skills will allow him to pull of the win by submission.
Matt Hughes Vs. Renzo Gracie
Gracie makes his UFC debut and it will be a tough fight against Hughes. These two legends are slightly past their prime but still have lots in the tank to make this an exciting fight. Hughes will use his size and strength to out power Gracie on the ground and pull off the victory.
Kendall Grove Vs. Mark Munoz
Munoz will try to use his wrestling skills to take the fight to the ground eliminating the reach and height advantage of Grove. Kendall has excellent ground skills though and will catch Munoz in a submission to win the fight.
Terry Etim Vs. Rafael Dos Anjos
Etim will pick Dos Anjos apart on the feet and use his strength to keep the fight standing on his way to a unanimous decision victory.
Phil Davis Vs. Alexander Gustafsson
This will be a tough fight between two very big light heavyweight fighters. Davis will control Gustafsson on the ground and edge out a close decision.
Paul Taylor Vs. John Gunderson
Expect another close fight with Taylor edging out Gunderson on the judges score cards to pull off the win.
Nick Osipczak Vs. Rick Story
Story will use his superior wrestling skills to control the fight and win by decision.
Brad Blackburn Vs. DaMarques Johnson
Johnson will pull of the victory late in the fight by submission.
Paul Kelly Vs. Matt Veach
Veach is a very powerful fighter with a lot of similarities to his coach and trainer Matt hughes. Veach will use his strength and wrestling to pull off the victory.
Jon Madsen Vs. Mostapha Al Turk
Madsen will use his wrestling to control Al Turk and edge out a decision victory.
